AI product photography prompts

Great product imagery comes down to three decisions: the surface, the light, and the angle. These prompts fix those choices for the most common ecommerce shots, from clean catalog stills to styled lifestyle scenes. They are model-agnostic, so run them on Nano Banana Pro, FLUX, or GPT Image and pick the winner.

Prompting guide

How to write great Product photography prompts

Four rules that make the difference between a flat result and a usable one.

Decide the surface first

Marble, oak, seamless paper, or linen sets the whole mood before you touch style words. Name it explicitly at the start of the prompt.

Direct the light

State the direction and quality: "soft window light from the left" or "single hard key from the upper right". This is the difference between flat and premium.

Match the angle to the product

Bottles and cans read best at eye level or a slight three-quarter; flat lays and food from directly above. Say the angle out loud.

Keep the background earning its place

For catalog, use a clean seamless. For lifestyle, add one or two props that imply use without cluttering the hero.

Product photography prompts, answered

Which model is best for AI product photography?
Nano Banana Pro and FLUX both produce excellent product stills; GPT Image 2 is best when the shot needs rendered packaging text. Run the same prompt across two and pick the winner. DesignerBox lets you switch models in one workspace.
How do I keep my product looking accurate?
Start from a real photo of the product where possible and describe it precisely (material, colour, finish). Reference the product in edits so it stays consistent across scenes.
What resolution should product images be?
Generate at the highest quality the model offers, then upscale for print or large hero placements. DesignerBox includes upscaling in the same flow.
Can I make a whole set from one product photo?
Yes. Use one clean product shot as the reference and change only the background, surface, and light across prompts to build a consistent set.
