AI image, video and product photography, right on the Figma canvas

DesignerBox puts AI image and video generation, background removal and product photography directly on the Figma canvas, so you create finished visuals in the same file you design in. Sign in with your DesignerBox account, run a tool, and the result lands as an editable Figma frame, with no export and no round trip to another app.

Built by the team behind DesignerBox, the AI creative studio for brands.

One panel. Right on your canvas.

The usual AI image workflow is a relay race across tabs. DesignerBox collapses it into a single panel docked in Figma. Describe the shot or select a layer, run the tool, and the result lands as an editable frame. You never leave the file.

The toolset, in the Apps tab

Six tools in one panel. Pick one, generate, keep designing.

Generate image

Text to image, on your choice of model

Describe what you want and get text-to-image on your choice of model and aspect ratio. The result drops onto your selected frame, sized and ready to place in the layout.

Generate video

Text to video, or animate a layer you already have

Run text-to-video, or turn a selected layer into the opening frame for image-to-video. The poster is placed on the canvas and the MP4 opens in a tab.

Remove background

Clean cutouts, ready to composite

Select a layer and get a clean cutout back with a transparent alpha, ready to composite into the frame you are building. No manual masking, no separate tool.

Expand

Outpaint a square into a banner

Outpaint a frame to a wider or taller ratio, turning a square into a banner or a full-bleed background. The new canvas is generated to match what is already there.

Campaign-ready shots from one product photo

Feed in a product photo and get campaign-ready shots without booking a studio. One product becomes a set of frames you can drop straight into the layout.

What people use it for

If you are filling a layout with real-looking content instead of grey boxes, that is the sweet spot.

Hero and landing-page imagery
Generate the hero shot in the same file the page is designed in, at the exact ratio the frame needs.
Product and catalog photos
E-commerce product and catalog shots for a product page or a grid, without booking a studio or waiting on a reshoot.
Ad and social creative
One product turned into ad and social creative in multiple sizes, all inside the campaign file.
Cutouts for mockups and decks
Quick transparent cutouts to drop into a mockup, a pitch deck or a prototype.
Native frames

It lands as an editable Figma frame

Nothing you generate is a flat export you have to re-import. Every result drops onto your selected frame as a standard Figma layer.

  • Drops onto the selected frame, sized to fit
  • Move, mask and restyle it like any other layer
  • Transparent alpha on cutouts, ready to composite
  • Stays in your file, your version history and your flow

What makes it worth installing

Three reasons teams keep it docked in the file.

Canvas-native output
Results are Figma layers you can move, mask and restyle, not files you re-import.
One account everywhere
The same DesignerBox login and credits work here, in the browser extension, on mobile and through the DesignerBox MCP connector, so your history and plan follow you.
Lean on network access
The plugin talks only to DesignerBox for sign-in, generation and the CDN that serves your results, with no third-party analytics or trackers.

Getting started

From install to your first generated frame in about a minute.

1

Open DesignerBox from the Plugins menu

Add the plugin once, then run it from the Plugins menu. It works in Figma design files and in FigJam.

2

Sign in and pick a tool

Sign in with your DesignerBox account to connect your credits, then pick a tool from the Apps grid.

3

Prompt or select, then place

Add a prompt or select a layer, run the tool, and place the result on your frame.

Installing is free. Generation uses your DesignerBox credits and plan, managed in your account rather than through Figma.

Built for the people shipping the brand

If you design, market or sell a product, the plugin lives where you already work.

Product designers
Fill frames with real product visuals instead of grey boxes while you prototype.
Brand and creative teams
Produce a whole on-brand ad set inside the file the campaign already lives in.
E-commerce founders
Product and catalog shots on a startup budget, without a photographer.
Agencies
Reusable, on-brand systems per client, with commercial-use rights on paid plans.

Pick the model, or let DesignerBox pick

Generate image and generate video both let you choose the model and the aspect ratio, without leaving the canvas.

Bring DesignerBox into every Figma file

AI image, video, background removal and product photography, generated on your canvas.

Got any questions left?

Everything you need to know about the DesignerBox plugin for Figma.

What does the DesignerBox plugin for Figma do?
It puts AI image and video generation, background removal and product photography on the Figma canvas. The Apps tab holds six tools: generate image, generate video, remove background, expand, product ad and photo angles. Every result lands on your canvas as an editable Figma frame.
Where does the generated content go?
Straight onto your selected frame as a standard Figma layer you can move, mask and restyle. It is not a flat export you have to re-import, so it stays in your file and in your flow. Generated video places a poster on the canvas and opens the MP4 in a tab.
Do I need a DesignerBox account or subscription?
You sign in with your DesignerBox account and the plugin runs on the same credits as the web app. Installing is free. Generation uses your DesignerBox credits and plan, managed in your account rather than through Figma.
Can I choose which AI model runs?
Yes. Generate image and generate video both let you pick the model and the aspect ratio before you run the job, so you can match the engine to the shot.
What data does the plugin send?
The plugin talks only to DesignerBox: sign-in, generation and the CDN that serves your results. There are no third-party analytics or trackers.
Can I use the output commercially?
Yes. Images and video you generate carry the same commercial-use rights as the DesignerBox web platform on a paid plan, so they are ready for client work and paid campaigns.
Can I use the same account outside Figma?
Yes. The same DesignerBox login and credits work in the web app, the browser extension, on mobile and through the DesignerBox MCP connector, so your history and your plan follow you everywhere.
Does it work in Figma design files and FigJam?
Yes. Add the plugin once and it runs in both Figma design files and FigJam, on the web and in the desktop app.
