13 AI models for image and video

Pick the right model for the job, from photorealistic 4K stills to cinematic 15-second video. Every model runs inside DesignerBox on one credit balance, one library, one workflow.

How to choose a model

There is no single best model. The right one depends on what you are making, how many versions you need, and how much of your credit balance the job deserves. Three rules cover most decisions.

Match the model to the job, not the benchmark

Text inside the image is a different problem from photoreal skin, and neither is the same as animating a still. GPT Image 2 and Seedream 5 lead on typography, Nano Banana Pro on prompt fidelity, Kontext Multi on keeping one character consistent across a campaign.

Iterate cheap, finish expensive

Draft with the fast, low-credit models and spend the premium rate only on the frame you are shipping. Nano Banana 2 at 3 credits lets you try 50 directions for what a handful of premium runs would cost, then rerun the winner on Nano Banana Pro.

For video, price the clip, not the second

Video is billed per second, so length drives cost more than model choice. An 8-second Veo 3.1 clip at 1080p costs 240 credits; the same brief on Veo 3.1 Fast costs 96. Storyboard the length first, then pick the tier.

Questions about AI models

Which AI model is best for image generation?
There is no single best model. Nano Banana Pro leads on prompt fidelity and photorealism, GPT Image 2 on text rendering and 4K detail, Seedream 5 on native typography at a lower credit rate, and FLUX 2 Flex on retexturing and multi-reference editing. DesignerBox gives you all of them on one balance so you can pick per job rather than commit to one.
Do I need a separate subscription for each model?
No. Every model on DesignerBox runs on the same credit balance and writes into the same library. Switching model is a dropdown, not a new account, and you only pay the credit cost of the runs you actually make.
How much does each model cost to run?
Image models are billed per image, from 3 credits for Nano Banana 2 up to 8 for GPT Image 2. Video models are billed per second, from 8 credits per second for Kling 2.6 Pro up to 70 for Sora 2 Pro at 1080p. Each model page lists its exact rate.
Can I use the output commercially?
From the Pro plan up, output carries a full commercial licence with no watermark, so it can go into products, ads, client work and social. Free and Basic are for evaluating the tools, and Free output is watermarked.
Which video models generate audio?
Veo 3.1, Veo 3.1 Fast, Sora 2 Pro, Seedance 2.0 and Kling 2.6 Pro all produce native synchronised audio, so a clip is publishable without a separate audio pass. Runway Gen-4.5 is video only.
