Sign in and prompt

On first use, Codex opens a browser tab to authorise your DesignerBox account. After that, just describe what you want to generate.

Example: “Generate a flat-lay of these three products on marble.”

What is DesignerBox for Codex?

DesignerBox is an AI design studio for product photography, ad creative, and marketing video. This page connects it to OpenAI Codex through the Model Context Protocol, so you can run the same studio-grade models and design apps with plain-language prompts, right where you already work. Connect once. New models and tools show up automatically.

Generate in your workflow

Ask Codex for a product shot, an ad, or a try-on and it renders the result on your DesignerBox account, inline, with no context switch.

Automate design pipelines

Wire generation into scripts and multi-step tasks: pull a brief, generate variations, remove backgrounds, and save assets, all driven from Codex.

Batch on-brand assets

Produce a full set of catalogue images, angle variations, or ad sizes in one pass, styled to your brand profile.

See it in Codex

Describe the asset in one message. DesignerBox picks the right model, generates on your account, and hands the result back to Codex.

Frequently asked questions

What is DesignerBox for Codex?
A Model Context Protocol (MCP) connection that brings DesignerBox’s design tools into OpenAI Codex. Generate product photos, ads, and short video with plain-language prompts, straight from Codex. One connection gives Codex access to studio-grade image and video models plus ready-made design apps on your DesignerBox account.
How do I connect DesignerBox to Codex?
Copy the DesignerBox MCP server URL, add it to OpenAI Codex as an HTTP MCP server, then sign in to authorise your account. After that you can generate assets from inside Codex using natural-language prompts. Full steps are in the setup card at the top of this page and the MCP docs.
What can I generate from Codex?
Studio-grade product photography, on-brand ad creative, virtual try-on, background removal and retouch, photo angle sets, and short marketing video with audio. Describe what you need in plain language and DesignerBox runs the right model or design app for the job.
Which models does it use?
Image models include Nano Banana Pro, GPT Image 2, Seedream 5, and FLUX 2 Flex. Video models include Veo 3.1, Sora 2 Pro, Seedance 2.0, and Kling 2.6 Pro. New models are added on the server side, so Codex picks them up with no config change on your side.
Does it work with other AI clients too?
Yes. The same DesignerBox MCP server works with Claude Desktop, Claude.ai, Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, ChatGPT, Cursor, Windsurf, and MCP Inspector. Connect once and use the same tools across every client that speaks MCP.
How does pricing work?
Connecting is free. Generations run on your DesignerBox plan’s credits, so cost depends on the model and output. The Free plan lets you try it, and Basic, Pro, Premium, and Ultra plans add more credits, storage, and higher-cost models. You never pay per model to unlock it.
Can I use the outputs commercially?
Yes. Assets you generate through DesignerBox are suitable for commercial use in marketing, product listings, and client work. Commercial rights follow your DesignerBox subscription, so check your plan terms to confirm.
