DesignerBox Apps: What All 16 Do and What They Cost

All 16 DesignerBox apps are live. What each one makes from a single product photo, the exact credit cost of every app, and which one to open first.

DesignerBox Apps: What All 16 Do and What They Cost

DesignerBox apps are 16 one-click tools that each do one campaign job. You drop in a product photo, pick the app, and get the finished asset. No canvas, no prompt engineering, no model selection. They cover product photography, retouching, fashion, ads, video, and brand content, and most cost 5 credits per generation. The full set is live at the apps hub.

You have one product photo and a launch on Friday. You need the listing angles, a clean cutout for the marketplace, a lifestyle shot for the PDP, three ad sizes for paid social, and a vertical clip for Reels.

That is five different jobs from one source image. The apps exist so each one is a click instead of a brief. This is what all 16 do, what each costs, and which one to open first.

Key Takeaways

  • All 16 apps are live at designerbox.ai/apps, grouped into six jobs: product photography, retouch, fashion, video, ads, and brand content.
  • Most image apps cost 5 credits. Background Remover and OG Image Generator are 1 credit. Product Ad Generator is 3. Brand Visual Storyboard is 3 per frame.
  • Every app starts from your actual product photo, which is why the output is your product rather than a lookalike.
  • Free covers 22 image generations. The free plan is 112 credits, no credit card, and an image app run is 5 credits.
  • Video is the exception on price. Fashion Video Creator is 10 credits standard and 20 HD. Picking a top-tier model directly, like Veo 3.1 with audio, is priced per second and runs far higher.
  • AI video and try-on start at Premium. The commercial license starts at Pro. Worth checking the gate before you plan around an app.

What a DesignerBox app is

An app is a single-purpose tool with the model choice already made for you. Where the canvas asks you what you want and which engine should make it, an app asks for a product photo and a preset, then returns a finished asset.

The trade is deliberate. You give up per-shot model control and get speed. Photo Angles does not ask which image model renders the three-quarter view. It renders it.

Every app draws on the same catalog of 13 image and video models across six providers, and every output lands in the same searchable library. The apps are the fast lane through the studio, not a separate product.

What each app costs in credits

Credit cost varies by app, and it is published on each app page rather than in one place. Here it is in one place.

AppCreditsNote
Background Remover1Free with zero credits inside the Studio editor
OG Image Generator1Per image
Product Ad Generator3Plus 1 per extra size variation
Brand Visual Storyboard3 per frameAn 8-frame board is 24 credits
Photo Angles5Per angle view, so a 6-angle set is 30
Spotlight5Per generation
Retouch5Per repair
Skin Retouch5Per retouch
Flat Lay Studio5Per flat lay, up to 12 products in one
Styled Scene Generator5Per scene
Outfit to Image5Varies with the model you pick
Fashion Video Creator10 standard, 20 HDPer clip, 4 to 16 seconds
Social Media Ad StudioShown in the appNot published on the app page
Brand Story CreatorShown in the appNot published on the app page
Video Ad ComposerShown in the appNot published on the app page
Instagram 3D FrameShown in the appVaries with the effect type

Four apps do not publish a fixed credit cost on their page. Instagram 3D Frame states the reason plainly: cost depends on the effect, and the exact figure is displayed before you generate. Rather than guess at a number, check it in the app before you plan a batch around it.

What that buys per plan, as of July 2026: the free plan is 112 credits, which is 22 image-app generations or 112 background removals. Basic at $15 a month is 500 credits, roughly 100 styled scenes or 166 product ads. Pro is $35 for 1,000, Premium is $75 for 2,500, and Ultra is $200 for 8,000. Full detail sits on the pricing page.

The video caveat is worth saying plainly. Fashion Video Creator at 10 or 20 credits is cheap because the app makes the model choice. Driving a top-tier video model directly is priced per second of output, and an 8-second Veo 3.1 clip with audio costs 6,400 credits, which is more than a Premium plan holds in a month. Apps are the cheap path to video. Model choice is the expensive one.

The six apps that replace a shoot day

Reviewing product layouts at a studio table, the work a shoot day is usually booked for

Photo Angles, Spotlight, Background Remover, Flat Lay Studio, Styled Scene Generator and Retouch cover the still-image jobs a studio day is normally booked for.

The sequence that fills a listing: Background Remover for the clean cutout, Photo Angles for the six views, Spotlight if the source lighting is flat, then Styled Scene Generator for the lifestyle shot the PDP needs. Four apps, one source photo, and every output exports up to 4K. Which images break at step one, and what each marketplace allows behind the product, is covered in our guide to AI background removal.

Set that against the quote. White-background listing shots run $25 to $75 each and a full studio day runs $1,000 to $5,000, before the reshoot when a product changes, which we costed out in what a product photoshoot really costs.

Retouch and Skin Retouch are the finishing pass. Retouch brushes out an unwanted object or a scratch. Skin Retouch evens a model’s skin while keeping the texture, which is the part cheap retouching usually destroys.

Fashion brands get two more: Outfit to Image renders on-model imagery from a described look, with control over model, pose, camera angle, lighting and background. Fashion Video Creator turns a garment photo into a 4 to 16 second clip in 9:16, 16:9 or 1:1. Both feed the Photo Studio workflow.

The apps that turn a product photo into running ads

Product Ad Generator is the direct route. One product shot, an optional logo and brand colours, a headline you write or the AI writes, and it exports at exact platform sizes across social, ecommerce, email, web banner, display and 9:16 story. Extra size variations are 1 credit each, which is what makes variant testing affordable.

Social Media Ad Studio goes further and writes the creative with the copy. Image, headline and body in one generation, sized for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest, LinkedIn and X.

Video Ad Composer handles the moving version. It accepts MP4, MOV and WebM clips or plain JPG and PNG images, adds text overlays, transitions and music, and exports 6 to 60 seconds in 16:9, 9:16, 1:1 or 4:5. Feed it one image and it adds the motion itself.

Those three plus Fashion Video Creator are the Ad Studio core. The reason they matter together is volume. Paid social eats creative, and the cost of a variant is the thing that decides how many you test.

Fashion, brand, and the rest of the campaign

A brand desk set up for social content, the last mile the brand apps cover

Brand Visual Storyboard runs before the shoot rather than after it. A brief and your references produce a styled storyboard and mood board so the campaign direction is agreed before anything is generated at volume. At 3 credits a frame, an 8-frame board costs 24 credits, about the same as eight product ads.

Brand Story Creator makes the portrait-format story visual that goes on an about page or an Instagram feed, built from your logo, colours and a short brief.

Instagram 3D Frame and OG Image Generator are the small ones that get forgotten and then get outsourced. OG Image Generator renders the 1200x630 share image every published page needs, at 1 credit each, and can pull the title and description straight from a URL.

Keeping all of this consistent across a team is the harder problem, and it is the one brand consistency in AI creative deals with directly.

What the apps do not do

Stating the limits plainly, because planning around a gate you did not know about is the expensive mistake.

  • Apps choose the model for you. That is the point of them, and it is a real constraint. When a shot needs a specific model, use the canvas and pick it.
  • AI video and try-on clothes start at Premium at $75 a month. They are not on Basic or Pro.
  • The commercial license starts at Pro at $35 a month. Check the tier before an app output goes into a paid ad.
  • Team collaboration, shared brand kits, white label and API access are Ultra only at $200 a month. Plans below Ultra are single seat.
  • Three apps do not publish a credit cost on their pages. Check in the app before you budget a batch.
  • Apps produce one asset per run. Variations are separate generations, and they spend credits each time.

The honest summary: apps are the fastest path from a product photo to a shippable asset, and they are not the flexible one. Most weeks that trade is correct. The weeks it is not, the canvas is one click away, which is the argument for having both behind one bill instead of six.

FAQ

How many DesignerBox apps are there?

Sixteen. Fifteen sit at designerbox.ai/apps/ and Instagram 3D Frame sits under use cases. They cover product photography, retouching, fashion, video, ads, and brand content, and the same app appears in more than one category on the hub when it does more than one job.

How much does a DesignerBox app cost to run?

Most image apps are 5 credits per generation. Background Remover and OG Image Generator are 1 credit. Product Ad Generator is 3 credits plus 1 per extra size. Brand Visual Storyboard is 3 credits per frame. Fashion Video Creator is 10 credits standard and 20 HD.

Do I need my own product photo?

For most apps, yes, and that is deliberate. Photo Angles, Spotlight, Flat Lay Studio, Styled Scene Generator and Product Ad Generator all build from your actual product, which is why the output is your product. Outfit to Image and Brand Visual Storyboard work from a written description instead.

Can I use app output in paid ads?

The commercial license starts at the Pro plan, which is $35 a month. Verify the current terms on the pricing page before an output goes into a campaign.

Which apps produce video?

Fashion Video Creator and Video Ad Composer. Fashion Video Creator makes 4 to 16 second clips from a photo. Video Ad Composer builds 6 to 60 second ads from clips or images. AI video requires the Premium plan or higher.

What resolution do the apps export?

Most image apps export up to 4K in PNG and JPG. OG Image Generator is fixed at 1200x630, the standard Open Graph size. Fashion Video Creator outputs MP4 at 720p or 1080p.

Are the apps different from the canvas?

Yes. An app has the model choice already made and asks only for your input and a preset. The canvas gives you the full catalog of 13 models and per-shot control. Same account, same library, different speed.

Can I run the apps from Claude or ChatGPT?

Yes. The DesignerBox MCP server exposes 43 tools, and the apps are reachable through it, so an assistant can run flat lays, product ads, try-on, retouch, and photo angles from the chat window.
